International Worlds: Server Settings

  • I. Overview: Types of Servers and Server Settings

    1) Standard International Server

    • Speed: base speed x2
    • Attack & Protection rule: 1:5

    - 1:5 means difference in score between attacker and defender, and applies to both espionage and attacks.
    - This proportion applies to weaker players only! Stronger players can be attacked/spied on regardless of this rule.
    Example: player 1 - 10,000 points, player 2 - 3,000 points: player 1 cannot attack/spy on player 2, but player 2 can attack/spy on player 1.

    • Weak player protection 12 hours after first attack: enabled.

    - This protection applies if the difference in score between 2 players is at least 25%;
    - It applies to weaker player only (i.e. stronger players won't get it);
    - It is activated when a city was attacked and defeated;
    - It is activated per city (not per account);
    - It applies to all consecutive attacks/spying missions of the same attacker;
    - It applies to active accounts only.

    2) Pro-Barbarian Server

    • Speed: base speed x4
    • Attack & Protection rule: 1:5 (see "Standard Server")
    • Weak player protection 12 hours after first attack: enabled (see "Standard Server").

    Server specific features:

    - Barbarian camps: randomly generated, differences in resources/defense not only between barbarian levels (1-9), but also within each level.
    - New barbarian attacks every 12 hours (instead once a day).
    - Survival rate: some barbarian servers may feature a 30% survival rate (e.g. int10 - Kantetul).

    3) Peace Server

    • Speed: base speed x4
    • Attack & Protection rule: 1:2

    - 1:2 means difference in score between attacker and defender, and applies to both espionage and attacks.
    - This proportion applies to both weaker and stronger players!
    Example: player 1 - 10,000 points, player 2 - 6,000 points: neither player can attack/spy on each other.

    • Weak player protection 12 hours after first attack: enabled.

    Applies to all players without considering difference in score of at least 25%. Other conditions same as described in the "Standard server" section.

    Other features:
    - Survival rate 100%: after being defeated, all units go to the Itzamna temple where they can be healed. Required: Itzmana temple.
    - Points calculation: buildings and research give more points.

    Full setting description you'll find here.

    4) War Server

    • Speed: base speed x4
    • Attack & Protection rule: none
    • Weak player protection 12 hours after first attack: disabled.

    - Battle points
    - Recruiting units grants 3 times more points than usual
    - New barbarian attacks every 12 hours (instead once per day).
    - Newbie protection extended to 10,000 points (vs 2,400 points in an usual world).

    Full setting description you'll find here.

    5) Speed Server

    • Speed: base speed x6
    • Attack & Protection rule: 1:5 (see "Standard server" section).
    • Weak player protection 12 hours after first attack : enabled (see "Standard server" section).

    Server specific features:
    6x speed, resources etc. Full setting description you'll find here.

    For Any Server Type: Joint Attack Protection Rules
    Please note: for any server type, joint attack protection rules (Tambo rules) apply.

    Basically, if a stronger player sends his/her troops to the Tambo of a weaker player, the score of the stronger player will be counted for triggering attack protection rules for the weaker player, and vice versa.

    Example: Player A (the host) has 100,000 points; player B (50,000 pts), player C (200,000 pts) and player D (95,000 pts) participate in a joint attack. When launching a joint attack, the limitations for the player C (being the strongest player with 200,000 pts) will apply to the entire allied troops.
