As a general suggestion: how about allowing players to look into the chat history ? this way people can look back at a conversation and pick up the thread.
You can add "/chat" to the end of the url (for example, https://en24.tentlan.com/chat) for a full screen view of the public chat with a 24 hour history (as opposed to the 10 minute or so history you get in-game if you weren't online). Perhaps that helps?
